Biography
In 2000/01 Drew Henry had his best ever results in ranking events, and built on the work of his excellent 1999/2000 performances.

In 1999, he made the last 16 of the UK Championship, which included wins over Dominic Dale and Stephen Lee. His consistent performances lifted him into the top 32 - a big jump up from his start position at No.45.

His previous high point was in 1996 when he reached the quarter-finals of the Welsh Open, beating Steve Davis, losing eventually to Paul Hunter.

Henry rounded off his season with a win over Mark King at The Crucible, before losing in the last 16 to Mark Williams.

His trip to Sheffield nearly turned to disaster when, on the way to the venue his car was hit by air gun pellets. The window was smashed and Drew covered in glass, but he and his passengers emerged unhurt from the frightening experience.

Last season saw Henry hit some of his best ever form. A quarter-final appearance in the UK Championship was quickly followed by a first-ever ranking semi-final at the China Open. He recorded a 5-0 win over world No.6 Matthew Stevens in the quarter-final before running world champion Mark Williams very close in the last four - losing 6-5 having led 5-4.

However, the second half of the season was not so successful. Although Henry reached the last 16 of the Regal Welsh, he missed out on a trip to Thailand, and on qualification for The Crucible. Although his chances of making the top 16 had passed, Henry finished on a flourish by reaching the semi-finals of the Regal Scottish.
