Biography
Before turning professional in 1991, Dave Harold was one of the most feared and respected opponents on the pro-am circuit.

Always a stubborn competitor, Harold has a precise, methodical approach to his play that gives little away to his opponents. On turning professional he rose steadily through the WPBSA rankings, and reached No.50 in 1993.

It was then that his name shot to prominence when, as a rank outsider, he beat Darren Morgan 9-3 in the final of the Asian Open. On the way to the final he had put paid to Alain Robidoux, Dene O'Kane and Stephen Hendry.

By 1995 he had forced his way into the top 16 and he reached the quarter-finals of the Embassy World Championship in 1996.

But he could not retain his place in the top 16 after a disappointing 1997/98 season.

In the 1999/2000 he reached the semi-final of the Grand Prix and the quarters of the UK Championship, and although he was not as consistent as he might have hoped, it was enough to help him back into the top 16.

Harold's performances in ranking events were not spectacular last season, as he reached the last 16 on only three occasions - albeit in three of the highest value tournaments in terms of ranking points. However, he reached the semi-finals of the B&H Masters after an extraordinary comeback against John Parrott.

A native of Stoke on Trent, Dave is a season ticket holder of Stoke Football Club and follows their fortunes - and misfortunes - as often as his schedule permits.
